  • Clean bowls daily and ensure these are always accessible.

Soft collar & lead

  • A lightweight soft puppy collar & lead is best to begin and then as your puppy grows and is ready for walking a training harness is recommended.

New Kitten Checklist

Food & water bowls

  • Separate bowls with fresh water and a high quality kitten food is important for the first 12 months.
  • We recommend Advance super-premium kitten food to provide the best start to life.
  • Clean bowls daily and ensure these are always accessible.

Litter tray

  • A good size tray and quality litter is recommended. Ensure it is cleaned regularly to avoid odour and mess and always wash your hands thoroughly after handling.

Bed

  • A warm, comfortable and secure bed or cubby placed in a quiet corner is recommended.

Toys

  • Fun and safe toys specifically made for cats are best.
  • Kittens love to play with catnip mice, balls, cardboard boxes and playing together provides a great way to interact and bond with your kitten.

Scratching post

  • Great for exercise and stretching out.
  • Encourage your kitten to use the post by playing near or around it from an early age.

 Collar

  • A lightweight collar and an identification tag is recommended

Grooming

  • Brushing your kitten’s coat daily helps to keep the coat healthy and provides a great bonding experience for both you and your kitten.

Cat carrier

  • Ensure you have a secure carrier for transporting and get your kitten comfortable and used to it from an early age to reduce stress.
